Activity Types

Chelle generates five types of course activities. Each type serves a different pedagogical purpose, and all are grounded in the Knowledge Model built from your source material.

The five activity types

  • Lectures — Structured presentations for teaching concepts
  • Labs — Hands-on exercises for applying knowledge
  • Worksheets — Practice problems for reinforcement
  • Study Guides — Review materials for exam preparation
  • Assessments — Quizzes and exams for evaluating understanding

Choosing activity types

During Stage 5 of the course building workflow, you choose which activity types to generate for each unit. Different units might need different mixes:

  • A theoretical unit might need a lecture + study guide + assessment
  • A practical unit might need a lecture + lab + worksheet
  • A review unit might just need a study guide + assessment

Grounded in the Knowledge Model

Every generated activity traces back to specific concepts in the Knowledge Model. A lecture covers specific concepts. An assessment tests specific learning objectives. A lab applies specific principles. Nothing is generated from thin air.
