Citations & Sources

Every concept in the Knowledge Model links back to specific locations in your source material. This is what makes Chelle's output trustworthy and verifiable.

How citations work

When Chelle extracts a concept from your textbook, it records exactly where that concept was found — chapter, section, page, and surrounding context. These citations flow through to generated activities, so you can always trace any piece of content back to its source.

Why this matters

  • Verifiability — check any generated content against the original
  • Trust — know that generated activities come from your material, not general AI knowledge
  • Student reference — activities can point students to relevant textbook sections
  • Completeness — see which parts of the textbook are covered (and which aren't)

Source materials

Chelle works with PDF textbooks as the primary source format. When you upload a textbook, Chelle processes the full content and maintains citation links throughout the Knowledge Model and all generated activities.
