Refining Activities
Generated activities are starting points. This recipe shows how to review and improve them.
Goal
Take a generated lecture or assessment and refine it to match your teaching style and course needs.
Review checklist
For each generated activity, check:
- Accuracy — Does the content correctly represent the source material?
- Completeness — Are all assigned concepts covered?
- Level — Is the difficulty appropriate for your students?
- Flow — Does the material build logically?
- Tone — Does it match your teaching style?
Refinement strategies
- Edit directly — modify text, add your own examples, adjust explanations
- Regenerate with feedback — tell Chelle what to change ("make the introduction more engaging" or "add more real-world examples")
- Adjust scope — add or remove concepts from the unit to change what the activity covers
Tips
- Focus on the structure first, then refine the details
- If an activity doesn't feel right, check the concept mapping — the issue might be upstream
- Generated assessments benefit most from refinement, especially the rubric
