Chelle

Skills & Roles

Skills and roles customize how Chelle works. Skills add capabilities; roles shape perspective.

Skills

Skills are predefined prompts you can invoke with a slash command. They're stored in .claude/skills/.

Using Skills

Type /skill-name in your conversation to invoke a skill. The skill's prompt expands into your conversation.

Example Skills

  • /daily-standup - Generate a standup summary from recent activity
  • /weekly-review - Review the week's accomplishments
  • /project-status - Summarize project progress

Creating Skills

Create a markdown file in .claude/skills/ with your prompt template. The filename becomes the command.

# .claude/skills/daily-standup.md

Review my tasks and journal from the past day.
Summarize what I accomplished and what's next.

Roles

Roles are personas that shape how Chelle approaches your requests. They're stored in roles/.

Loading a Role

Ask Chelle to "load the [role name] role" or reference it naturally: "As a researcher, help me..."

Example Roles

  • Researcher - Thorough, citation-focused, analytical
  • Editor - Concise, clarity-focused, style-conscious
  • Planner - Strategic, timeline-aware, goal-oriented

Creating Roles

Create a markdown file in roles/ describing the persona, expertise, and approach.
